Nirama's public asteroid

Nirama's publicly owned asteroid, exceeding 400 kilometers in diameter, was the largest asteroid located inside the Cularin asteroid belt. On this asteroid, Nirama maintained a substantial base, having inherited it from Riboga, a Hutt. Both Riboga and Nirama utilized this base as a venue to convene with their subordinates within the Organization, notably the smugglers belonging to the Smugglers' Confederation. Nirama also inherited a private asteroid that Riboga had previously used for his own personal purposes.

Despite this, the smugglers generally preferred not to meet with their leader on his asteroid, fearing the ease with which he could impound their vessels there. They tended to favor meeting locations such as the planet Cularin, or using intermediaries to circumvent face-to-face encounters.

A significant portion of the Organization's operations were conducted from this asteroid, and many of its members resided there, at least on a part-time basis. The asteroid's upper levels contained docking bays, Nirama's living quarters and meeting spaces, and detention blocks. The asteroid's interior functioned as a self-contained city, featuring independently operated businesses like the Hutt's Tail cantina, and even defunct establishments such as Mokada's Place. The base was segmented into an unspecified number of sectors, with Red Sector being a particularly notorious and problematic area.

The Cell, a rival group within the Organization seeking to depose Nirama, successfully seized control of a portion of his public asteroid. Subsequently, Nirama utilized his public asteroid as his primary command center while simultaneously attempting to locate and interrogate Cell members elsewhere.

Weapons were prohibited within the asteroid's interior, and security was maintained by the Organization's security personnel. However, Nirama's personal security forces possessed greater authority and were permitted to carry weapons, typically stun batons and force pikes. Nirama's security detail wore silver and black uniforms, with red bars on their shoulders indicating their rank.
