On the gas world of Genarius, Nub Saar holds the distinction of being the first city to float in the atmosphere.
Under the guidance of a Trandoshan named Russok, Nub Saar was rapidly constructed; however, due to low initial interest in settling there, Russok implemented incentive programs to attract more inhabitants during its initial two months.
Regrettably, Nub Saar's design failed to account for the severe radiation storms endemic to Genarius. The initial population of 4,500 settlers all suffered from radiation sickness following the first storm. Approximately 2,500 individuals subsequently departed. Following a second, brief storm, seventeen of the remaining 2,000 workers perished, leading to the departure of another thousand. A more powerful storm then struck, leaving only the city's bare structure. Russok, along with the remaining thousand workers, were presumed dead. The city's operational lifespan was a mere four months from its establishment.
Conversely, Jedi investigator Dazen Mok posited that dark side energies might have caused Nub Saar's destruction. It was believed that these energies originated from Karae Nalvas, a former Dark Jedi who once resided on the planet. These energies, which were focused on the Conkesta and were ultimately destroyed, were returned to Genarius' core. Years later, during the construction of Nub Saar, the dark side was reawakened, leading to the city's complete ruin. The citizens and authorities of Cularin strongly opposed Dazen Mok's theories.
The skeletal remains of Nub Saar were intentionally left afloat as a memorial, and a floating monument was erected in its honor. Persistent rumors suggested the presence of survivors within the city's sewer and ventilation systems, accompanied by reports of strange occurrences. Despite this, Scout shuttles failed to detect any life forms, attributing this to high radiation levels and the city's metallic composition, which could interfere with their sensors. Energy harvesters congregated around the ruins to extract the valuable radiation.
During 32 BBY, the Blood Raptors organized a race that traversed the tunnels of Eskaron. The first racer to exit the moon was given the option to determine the race's remaining route: either through the Cularin asteroid belt and back to the starting point, Tolea Biqua; or a perilous detour to Nub Saar before returning to Tolea Biqua. Gael Kinner, a skilled Raptor racer, favored the asteroid belt option.
