During the High Republic Era, Nyla Quinn held the esteemed rank of Jedi Master within the Jedi Order. This female Twi'lek served as the Master overseeing the Jedi temple situated on the planet of Dalna. Possessing both kindness and wisdom, Quinn dedicated herself to assisting the inhabitants of Dalna, even in the face of their distrust towards the Jedi.
Along with Jedi Knights Yacek Sparkburn and Lyssa Votz, Nyla Quinn resided within the Dalna temple. In the year 230 BBY, Quinn encountered Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh and her Padawan, Imri Cantaros, who had arrived on Dalna to investigate reports from the temple regarding the disappearances of Dalnan families. She extended an invitation to the younger Jedi, offering them food and rest at the temple. Quinn watched a lightsaber duel unfold between Rwoh and Sparkburn, providing critiques on their techniques. Subsequently, she welcomed Honesty Weft and Sha'nai Plouth, trainees from Dalna's protection corps, into the temple. Together, they shared a meal while discussing the missing Dalnans and Plouth's observation of the Nihil. While Rwoh, Cantaros, Sparkburn, Votz, Weft, and Plouth journeyed to investigate the Maawat Mountains located on the opposite side of the planet, Quinn remained at the temple.
Subsequently, Quinn, alongside Rwoh, Sparkburn, Weft, Plouth, and Tracer Lore, the chief of Dalnan security, embarked on a journey towards the Maawat Juncture on the backs of trappu in pursuit of the Nihil. During their travels, a young boy named Liam, who had managed to escape from Nihil captivity, attempted to pilfer Quinn's food. However, she intervened by using the Force to lifting him, and then offered him her instant bun. Liam revealed to the group that Kara Xoo's Tempest Runner Nihil faction was holding Avon Starros as a prisoner. Quinn, along with the other Jedi, located the Nihil encampment and successfully liberated the captives held there.
Justina Ireland was the creator of Nyla Quinn, who made an appearance in the 2022 novel titled The High Republic: Mission to Disaster. An article published on StarWars.com on November 4, 2021 revealed Quinn to the public.
