Honesty Weft

Honesty Weft, a human male born around the year 244 BBY, was the offspring of the Dalnan ambassador known as Weft. He found himself on the starship named Steady Wing, which was en route to the Starlight Beacon. Due to his similar age to Avon Starros, an aspiring inventor and daughter of Galactic Republic Senator Ghirra Starros, Jedi Knight [Vernestra Rwoh](/article/vernestra_rwoh], Avon's guardian, was asked by Jedi Master Douglas Sunvale to bring her aboard the Steady Wing from Port Haileap. Sunvale's hope was that a friendship between Avon and Honesty might positively influence the Dalnans' perception of the Republic. However, during the voyage to the space station's dedication, bombs detonated on the cruiser. While the more experienced Jedi struggled to save the vessel, Honesty, along with Avon, Rwoh, Padawan Imri Cantaros, and Avon's protocol droid J-6, were forced to evacuate in a shuttle, ultimately becoming stranded on the untamed jungle moon named Wevo.

He felt unenthusiastic about being part of the delegation, as Honesty would have rather stayed on Dalna to complete the Metamorphosis Trials. These trials were a Dalnan rite of passage for young people to determine their success in their chosen paths; Honesty wanted to be a combat medic. However, his Corellian mother, who did not share the Dalnan aversion to space travel, pressured him to go. Honesty reluctantly agreed, but he was not happy about it. He even argued with his father after boarding the Steady Wing. He was then filled with guilt and grief when his father died in the destruction of the Steady Wing, regretting that their last conversation had been negative. Honesty figured out how the local animals stayed hydrated despite the moon's acidic rainfall, by consuming fruits filled with nourishing liquid.

Discovering that agents of the Nihil, a pirate group causing deadly chaos in the Dalnan sector and the wider galaxy, were responsible for the Steady Wing's destruction and his father's death, Honesty was consumed with rage. His anger and desire for vengeance resonated with Padawan Cantaros, who was similarly affected by his Master's death. Cantaros convinced Honesty to join him in an attempt to kill the pirates who had followed them to Wevo. Although they were easily captured, Vernestra and J-6 freed them by subduing the pirates. Unfortunately, Cantaros had come dangerously close to the dark side of the Force, forcing Vernestra to subdue him after a brief duel. After being rescued by a Jedi/Republic task force, Honesty asked Avon to ask her mother to let him speak to the Galactic Senate about the Nihil threat and potentially start talks about Dalna joining the Republic.
