Port Haileap was a space-based transportation hub and remote settlement situated on the world of Haileap during the age known as the High Republic Era. The Jedi Master Douglas Sunvale held the position of marshal there. Avon Starros, a youthful creator, was dispatched to Port Haileap from Coruscant by her mother, the Senator Ghirra Starros, hoping to prevent mischief; however, Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, Avon's protector, believed the port presented more chances for the girl to engage in her desired activities. At Sunvale's urging, Rwoh, Avon, and Avon's droid J-6 left Port Haileap with a party traveling to the space station Starlight Beacon aboard the Steady Wing, as he hoped that Avon forming a friendship with Honesty Weft, the offspring of the Dalnan ambassador, would alleviate their worries regarding the Galactic Republic.
