Douglas Sunvale was a Jedi Master of the Jedi Order, a male human who held the position of marshal at the Jedi outpost situated in Port Haileap throughout the High Republic Era.
Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Sunvale found himself in the Hetzal system. Imri Cantaros, a human, was his Padawan learner. He also collaborated with Vernestra Rwoh, a young Jedi Knight, at Port Haileap. Despite her personal aversion to it, he called her "Vern." Rwoh, acting on his request, arranged for young inventor Avon Starros, who had journeyed from Coruscant, to join a group heading to the space station Starlight Beacon. Starros shared the same age as Honesty Weft, the son of Weft, the Dalnan Ambassador. Sunvale's intention was for the two to forge a friendship, potentially improving the Galactic Republic's image in the eyes of the Dalnans.
Sunvale died in the attack on the Steady Wing, but not before guaranteeing the safe departure of Rwoh, Honesty, Avon, and Cantaros from the fated vessel. After their rescue from Wevo, Cantaros eventually became Rwoh's apprentice.
