Pacara, a planet of the terrestrial type, could be found in the Mid Rim region of the galaxy. Its location on the Standard Galactic Grid was designated as J-15. By the time that the mission to Batuu took place during the First Order-Resistance War, Pacara served as the location of a clandestine secret base for the Resistance, and General Leia Organa once had a post there.
In the year 34 ABY, a an Intersystem Transport Ship, under the command of Lieutenant Bek, departed from Batuu with new Resistance members who were planning to travel to Pacara. Instead, the First Order's forces seized the vessel, which ultimately resulted in a battle in space. The recruits went back to the Batuu base after the battle.
The first mention of Pacara occurred in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, an attraction within the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge areas at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Matt Martin of the Lucasfilm Story Group later verified the spelling of the name through Twitter. This spelling was eventually published in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu. While Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu and Star Wars Droids Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away both indicate that Pacara is in grid square H-14, the Star Wars Galaxy Map places it at J-15.
