At least four years prior to the Battle of Yavin, a human male was flying as Phoenix One, during Darth Vader's attack targeting the Phoenix fleet.
In Star Wars Rebels: The Siege of Lothal, a pilot identified by the Phoenix One callsign was featured, with Matthew Wood providing the character's voice.
