Pikpik

Pikpiks were a species of small, sentient rodents. During the High Republic Era, certain Pikpiks functioned as scavengers located on the planet of Bracca.

Biology and appearance

The Pikpik were a small-sized rodent species. Their physical characteristics bore similarities to rats, exhibiting features such as a lengthy, hairless tail and prominent ears. Their bodies were covered with gray and brown fur, and they possessed a snout marked by a zig-zag pattern.

History

During a period within the High Republic Era, a collective of Pikpiks, employed as scrappers on Bracca, pilfered a container filled with power cells belonging to Eren Kitt and a cohort of Jedi younglings. Ultimately, they exchanged the stolen power cells in return for components needed to repair their damaged skiff.

Behind the scenes

The Pikpik species made its initial appearance in "Finders Keepers," the second segment of the twenty-third episode of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, an animated series broadcast on Disney+ and Disney Junior, which premiered on March 1, 2024. Steph Laberis designed the species, drawing inspiration from real-world creatures like the opossum and rat, in addition to The Muppets.
