The Plasma Devils, a squadron within the Rebel Alliance Starfighter Corps, functioned in the Outer Rim after the Battle of Yavin. Operating from the shadows, they posed a considerable obstacle to the Galactic Empire's territorial growth.
Following the destruction of the Death Star, the Empire began a large-scale campaign targeting major criminal enterprises located in the Outer Rim. After the destruction of the Son-tuul Pride, Grand General Cassio Tagge redirected the focus of the Imperial Military towards eliminating the Plasma Devils, who were actively resisting the Empire's spread. He tasked Morit Astarte and Aiolin Astarte with locating and annihilating the rogue squadron.
After the death of The Ante, the Plasma Devils tried to flee from the Empire's reach. Nevertheless, Darth Vader personally commanded his own forces against them, almost completely wiping them out on his own.
