The criminal organization known as the Son-tuul Pride operated from Son-tuul, a planet covered in jungle terrain located in the Outer Rim. This group was a significant rival to the Hutt Clan, particularly Jabba the Hutt. Not long after the Battle of Yavin, Imperial forces led by Grand General Cassio Tagge began aggressively suppressing criminal enterprises in the Outer Rim, which had previously operated with impunity. Darth Vader launched an attack on the Pride's base and seized their accumulated credits, utilizing a Pride smugglers as a double agent who was equipped with a tracking device.
Following a short period of reorganization under the direction of the protocol droid 0-0-0, the Son-tuul Pride suffered yet another setback when their base was once more attacked by Imperial forces, this time under the command of Lieutenant-Inspector Magna Tolvan. Later, representatives of the syndicate were present at the Auction for Han Solo, which was organized by the Crimson Dawn syndicate.
Composed of numerous members from various alien species, the Pride wielded enough power to attract the attention of the Empire and was even considered by some to be the sixth member of the Five Crime Syndicates. Their operations included activities such as the illegal transportation of goods. The Pride was known for its ruthlessness, demanding successful outcomes despite Imperial interference and executing its own members for failures.
