The Protectors Camp served as the central hub for the Mandalorian Protectors, a dedicated group of Mandalorian warriors committed to safeguarding the Concord Dawn system. Fenn Rau commanded this base, which was established on the third moon orbiting the planet Concord Dawn.
During the Imperial Era, the Protectors maintained their operational center on the third moon of Concord Dawn to ensure the safety of the system. In 3 BBY, following an aerial engagement, a dogfight, with the Rebels' Phoenix Squadron, Rau had a meeting with an Imperial officer. The officer provided Rau with the agreed-upon payment. Rau also updated the officer about his encounter with the Rebel squadron, and the officer instructed Rau to inform him if the Rebels returned.
During this period, two rebels, the Jedi Kanan Jarrus and Sabine Wren, infiltrated the base. While Jarrus and Rau discussed Rau's role in saving Jarrus and Master Depa Billaba's lives during the Third Battle of Mygeeto, Wren proceeded to plant explosives on the Fang fighters. However, some of the Protectors discovered Wren and mistakenly identified her as a bounty hunter. Wren, being a member of House Vizsla's Clan Wren, invoked the Mandalorian code and challenged Rau to a duel. Despite Jarrus informing Sabine that this was against Hera's wishes, Rau accepted the challenge. Subsequently, Sabine detonated the explosives, destroying the majority of the Fang fighters. Rau and his protectors then tried to apprehend the rebels, but they managed to escape, resulting in Rau being captured by the Rebels. Given his position, Rau instructed his protectors to allow the Rebels safe passage through the system and to withhold information about his capture from the Empire.
