Pursuit! marked the conclusion as the eighth and last chapter of The Kingdom of Ice. The cancellation of Pizzazz magazine meant its publication was delayed until April 1979, when it appeared in Star Wars Weekly 60. This occurred as part of a complete reprint of the story arc within the UK's Star Wars Weekly 57–60 during 1979. Later, in November 1981, Pursuit! was re-released in color format through Marvel Illustrated Books' Star Wars, under the new title War on Ice!.
Luke Skywalker, Odan, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Fafnir are in hot pursuit of the Imperial imposter who has abducted Princess Leia Organa. Leia skillfully manages to interrupt the Imperial assault, which then enables Luke to seize control of the Imperial snow flyer. They proceed to utilize this captured Imperial vehicle, along with their imposter prisoner, to infiltrate the Imperial Polar Base. They detonate the snow flyer as a means to penetrate the defenses, thereby allowing the snow demons, who are allied with the Rebels, to gain entry into the base.
Thanks to the assistance provided by Luke and Leia, the offensive proves to be successful, resulting in a Rebel victory. Subsequently, Odan integrates his group of Rebels into the broader Rebel Alliance, bringing the mission to Akuria II to a triumphant conclusion for the Rebellion.
