Early life

A Jedi, disguised as a slave trader, saved Sitra from Ryloth. Subsequently, she developed into a proficient warrior and archaeologist. She began her training in the Force and eventually achieved the rank of Jedi Knight after successfully completing her trials. The creation of her personal lightsaber marked a pivotal moment for Rachi, providing her life with renewed purpose and direction. Sitra managed to survive both Order 66 and the Great Jedi Purge, living long enough to witness the emergence of the rebellion and the ensuing Galactic Civil War. After the destruction of the first Death Star, Sitra finally came out of hiding.

Battle of Talus and Confronting Darth Vader

Rachi Sitra

During the Galactic Civil War, Sitra supported the Rebel Alliance from a clandestine Rebel base situated on Talus, where she assisted in coordinating attacks against the Galactic Empire. However, the security of the base was jeopardized when the Imperial Special Forces established their own base on nearby Corellia and prepared to assault the Rebel installation. Sitra determined that the base was indefensible and that evacuating all personnel was the only feasible course of action. Nevertheless, the Battle of Talus compelled the Rebels to defend the base when the Imperial attack occurred sooner than anticipated. Imperial forces landed and immediately engaged the Rebel defenders, only to be surprised by the arrival of a group of Jedi, led by Rachi Sitra, who joined the fray. Sitra assumed command of the situation and brandished her lightsaber with authority. The combined Rebel Alliance forces successfully defended their base on Talus, forcing the Imperials to retreat to their outpost.

The following day brought a second Imperial assault, this time with a larger and more organized attack force, although the evacuation was nearing completion. Sitra, along with other base personnel, was evacuated aboard the Spirit of Corellia, a SoroSuub transport. However, the transport was shot down and crash-landed in a remote area of Corellia. Shortly thereafter, Imperial forces arrived to investigate the crash site, led by Darth Vader. Sitra made the decision to distract Vader, giving the others time to escape. She charged at the Dark Lord, lightsaber activated, but the Sith simply incapacitated her with the Force, rendering her unconscious. Vader's troops engaged the Rebels in a fierce and brutal battle, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides. Regaining consciousness, Sitra once again confronted Vader. At that moment, the surviving Rebels focused their blaster fire on Vader, and while he was deflecting the shots, Sitra and her troopers retreated into the wilderness. Within hours, they reached a local spaceport and rejoined the main Alliance forces.

Capture

After the Battle of Talus, Sitra's name was added to the Emperor's Most Wanted list, which offered substantial bounties for the capture of key Alliance leaders. Boba Fett personally selected Sitra as his target and had been tracking her movements for weeks before launching his attack. Sitra was en route to Dathomir for a diplomatic mission, and as her shuttle entered Dathomir space, it was ambushed by Slave I, which emerged from behind an asteroid. With a precise shot from a heavy blaster cannon, Fett disabled the shuttle's hyperdrive and initiated boarding procedures. When the airlock was breached, Sitra ignited her lightsaber and prepared to defend herself, but Fett launched a rocket from his wrist launcher, which dislodged the lightsaber from her grasp. Injured and defeated, the Jedi was forced to surrender to the bounty hunter. Fett secured her hands with energy binders and prepared to deliver her to Imperial authorities.

The temporary holding facility for the captured Rebels was an Imperial prison located in a rugged mountainous region just outside Bestine on Tatooine. Sitra was turned over to the Imperial authorities, but Rebel agents managed to discover the facility's location and launched a daring raid to rescue the prisoners. Despite strong Imperial resistance, the Rebels gained the upper hand and successfully evacuated the rescued prisoners, including Sitra, to safety.

Confrontation with Jeffren Brek

At some point during her mission, Rachi uncovered the identity of the Imperial spy, Jeffren Brek. She attempted to apprehend him, but Brek threw a [grenade](/article/grenade-legends] at her, giving himself enough time to escape and ending the confrontation. Brek continued his mission, but when Sitra found him again, she exacted a severe punishment by severing his entire left arm with her lightsaber.

Search for the Nightsister on Hoth

While on a mission to Dathomir, Sitra learned from Augwynne Djo, the leader of the Singing Mountain Clan of Dathomiri Witches, about a dangerous Nightsister named Kyrisa, who had mastered the power of Animal friendship. She was deemed so dangerous that her own clan had banished her from the planet. Aware that the Dark Jedi Namman Cha intended to recruit Kyrisa to serve the Emperor, Sitra resolved to find her first. She discovered that the Nightsister had crashed on a remote Outer Rim planet called Hoth, and she contacted an Alliance Special Forces unit that had recently established a small outpost on the planet. Enlisting the help of a Rebel agent, they traveled to Hoth, where they agreed to maintain a strict search protocol and stay in communication. After several hours of searching, Sitra, having defeated a local Hoth hog, was confronted by one of the Imperial agents searching for Kyrisa. Rachi was initially hesitant to fight, but when the Imperial declared his intention to bring the Nightsister to the Emperor, she decided to neutralize him.

Sitra was attacked by a wampa during her search.

However, her opponent proved to be agile in combat, and during a break in the fighting, Rachi offered him the chance to simply leave and go their separate ways. Reaching an agreement, she disappeared into the snow. She was soon contacted by her companion, who had discovered that Namman Cha was also involved in the search. Knowing that her companion was no match for a trained Force-sensitive, Rachi sent him to assist the Rebels at the outpost and continued her search alone. Her combat skills proved invaluable when she was attacked by a native wampa of Hoth. Her quest ultimately failed, as Cha had located the Nightsister and successfully persuaded her to join him. Nevertheless, her presence proved useful when the Imperials attacked the small Alliance outpost. Sitra aided the Rebels in defending the outpost and managed to disable an AT-PT walker during the battle.

Dathomir

In 1 ABY, Rachi Sitra was present on Dathomir during the blackwing virus outbreak. While there, Sitra, along with Han Solo and Chewbacca, had to combat a horde of Imperial undeads.
