During the Galactic Empire's Sepan campaign, an assault was launched by a joint Dimok and Ripoblus fleet against the Imperial escort carrier of the Ton-Falk-class, the Tropsobor. The Tropsobor was in the process of delivering TIE/ad starfighters to Admiral Harkov's flagship, the Victory I-class Star Destroyer named Protector. However, Imperial forces successfully repelled the attackers.
The Dimok and Ripoblus governments had previously been engaged in warfare with one another. However, the arrival of the Imperial Navy and their intervention to broker an agreement led to an unexpected alliance. Instead of making peace, they united against a shared adversary. Following a string of losses, the Dimoks and the Ripoblus launched a substantial offensive targeting a TIE/ad starfighter convoy. This convoy was intended to resupply Admiral Harkov's fleet, replacing the TIE/LN starfighters and TIE/IN interceptors lost during the Imperial campaign.
As the Ton-Falk-class escort carrier Tropsobor deployed its TIE/ad starfighters to the Victory I-class Star Destroyer Protector, commanded by Admiral Harkov, Dimok forces initiated an attack. This began with the emergence of a MC40a light cruiser, the Ben Het [article/ben_het], from hyperspace, followed by the launch of several squadrons consisting of BTL Y-wing starfighters and Z-95 Headhunters. These were followed by a Modified Corvette named Long Tan [article/long_tan], and lastly, two Cargo ferries called Suoi Tre [article/suoi_tre] and Can Giouc [article/can_giouc]. Maarek Stele, an accomplished TIE pilot, along with other TIE/LN starfighters and interceptors, engaged the Dimok forces. Their objective was to delay the attackers, allowing the TIE/ad starfighters to safely reach the Protector. After successfully repelling the enemy fighters and protecting the TIE/ad flights designated AA, AB, AC, and AD, the Imperial pilots turned their attention to the Ben Het, Long Tan, Suoi Tre and Can Giouc, holding off the attacking starships until the vessels were either destroyed or forced to retreat. Shortly thereafter, the Ripoblus joined the fray with the Nebulon-B2 frigate Shemsher [article/shemsher] and two groups of Delta-class JV-7 escort shuttles, named Raven [article/raven_(delta-class_jv-7_escort_shuttle)] and Seakyte [article/seakyte]. The Ripoblus encountered a similar fate, with their escort shuttles being destroyed and the frigate either destroyed or driven away.
Following the battle, a shuttle identified as Omlaut arrived and docked with the Protector. Stele conducted an inspection and discovered that the shuttle carried a high-ranking member of the Rebel Alliance. According to a member of the Secret order of the Empire, this individual was escorted directly to Harkov, and the two were left alone. This, coupled with Harkov's consistent reports of shortages in weapons and equipment, suggested that he was potentially selling Imperial arms and supplies to the highest credit bidder.
Having been resupplied with new starfighters, Admiral Harkov compelled the leaders of the opposing factions to convene aboard his ship and negotiate peace agreements, thereby concluding the campaign and bringing an end to a civil war that had lasted for decades. Subsequently, the elite pilot Stele was dispatched to the Pakuuni system.
The battle is depicted in the video game Star Wars: TIE Fighter, specifically in Battle 2, Mission 5.
The mission's canonicity is questionable, as the bonus objectives involve destroying all enemy spacecraft belonging to both the Dimoks and the Ripoblus. This is a significant challenge, given that the player controls a TIE Fighter and likely needs the assistance of TIE Bombers to destroy the capital ships involved.
