Riyola Keevan, a Pantoran female captain of a starship, worked for Chandrila Star Line. During the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance, also known as the war, she was in command of the MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser named Halcyon.
Previously, Keevan held the role of quartermaster aboard the Halcyon. She was also assigned as Leia Organa's personal aide during Organa's honeymoon trip with Han Solo. She rose to the rank of Captain of the vessel by 34 ABY. Shortly after dealing with a pirate attack led by Crimson Jack, she was the captain when the Halcyon celebrated its 275th anniversary with a voyage to Batuu. As the journey commenced, Lieutenant Harman Croy and his First Order soldiers boarded the ship, suspecting Resistance involvement.
A job posting was visible at Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu, advertising an opening for a mechanic on the Halcyon. It instructed interested individuals to get in touch with Keevan. Known for her strength, charisma, and worldliness, she was deeply committed to her responsibilities as captain and was highly respected by her crew.
The character Riyola Keevan was initially referenced in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which first welcomed visitors at Disneyland beginning on May 31, 2019. She also appeared as a character within the immersive hotel experience known as Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which began operations in 2022 at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Walt Disney Company posted audition materials for the character where Keevan expresses her gratitude to guests for their assistance in capturing criminals on the Halcyon, and alludes to having served on the vessel for a period of twenty years.
