In 232 BBY, during the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Montgo participated in the Order's mission to provide aid to the agriworld of Hetzal Prime and its encompassing star system. Acting under the coordination of Jedi Master Avar Kriss, the Jedi, through the utilization of telekinesis, changed the trajectory of a tibanna tank, preventing its catastrophic impact with the Hetzal system's largest star. Although the system was saved, Montgo perished as a result of the immense exertion required for this feat.
Rohmar Montgo served as a Jedi within the Jedi Order throughout the High Republic Era. During the Great Hyperspace Disaster that occurred in 232 BBY, Montgo was part of a Jedi team dispatched to assist the agriworld of Hetzal Prime and its associated system. Montgo participated in the galaxy-wide effort to avert a collision between a liquid tibanna tank and the Hetzal system's largest star, an impact that would have resulted in an explosion devastating the entire system.
Working under the coordination of Jedi Master Avar Kriss, Montgo, along with numerous other Jedi across the galaxy, established a mental link to collectively divert the tank from its destructive path. However, as they dedicated their complete focus to this task, each Jedi who succumbed to the overwhelming strain made the overall mission more difficult. Despite the successful resolution of the crisis, Montgo perished, unable to maintain their personal safety while simultaneously exerting the energy required to shift the tibanna. Kriss detected the Jedi's passing, briefly acknowledging the loss within her thoughts.
In 229 BBY, the Vurk Jedi Master Harli Cogra authored a book entitled Chronicles of the Jedi, which provided details on the Jedi of the High Republic Era. The third chapter of Cogra's book mentioned the Jedi who took part in Kriss' network to rescue Hetzal Prime, including those who had died, such as Montgo.
Being a member of the Jedi Order, Montgo possessed sensitivity to the Force, making them a Force-sensitive individual who was trained to move objects via the Force.
Rohmar Montgo's initial appearance was in the novel Light of the Jedi, penned by Charles Soule, and, though not directly, in the young-readers book The High Republic: The Great Jedi Rescue by Cavan Scott. Both books were launched as part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project on January 5, 2021. Light of the Jedi was the first to identify the character by their name.
