As the Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 light freighter, made its escape from the spaceport of Mos Eisley on Tatooine to evade the Galactic Empire just before the Battle of Yavin, one of Roon Tours' passenger ships was stationed there. The firm's moniker was the same as that of the celestial body known as Roon.
Roon Tours initially appeared in Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy, a Star Wars Legends reference book authored by James Luceno and published in 2004. The company's inclusion in the Star Wars: Complete Locations map reprint in 2016 established its canon status.
