Around 9 ABY, the Office of the Supervisor's Undersecretary Fara visited one of Roona's classes the day prior to the Career Assessment Test. When prompted by the droid teacher, Roona told the undersecretary that her ambition was to become a senior statistical accountant. Despite never having exchanged words, Roona's classmate, Neel, harbored a secret affection for her.

Close to 9 ABY, Roona, along with her fellow students, arrived at school the day before they were scheduled to take the Career Assessment Test – an exam that would determine their future roles in At Attin's Great Work. On her way into the school building, she witnessed Fern and KB being scolded by a safety droid for riding a hoverbike onto school grounds.
Later, Roona was in a class taught by a droid teacher. Midway through the lesson, the teacher introduced Undersecretary Fara, a special guest from the Office of the Supervisor. After Roona and her classmates greeted Fara, Fara spoke about how important the Career Assessment Test was. When the teacher asked the students about their desired contributions to the Great Work, Roona eagerly raised her hand. She was chosen to answer first, declaring her aspiration to become a senior statistical accountant. Following Roona's response, Neel, a classmate seated behind her, gazed at her with longing. He had a crush on her but was too shy to approach her and was still working up to saying something to her.
Later, while discussing the upcoming assessment with his friend Wim, Neel confided in him about his crush. He worried that if he failed the assessment, he would no longer be in Roona's class. Later, Fern and KB tricked Neel and Wim into believing they were being questioned by a safety droid. KB then ordered them to reveal their school crushes, and Neel blurted out Roona's name.
Roona made her debut in "This Could Be a Real Adventure," the premiere episode of the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series on Disney+, which premiered on December 2, 2024. The episode's credits attribute the character's portrayal to performance artist Phoenix Notary and Iliana Castillo, while Shelby Young has confirmed that she provided Roona's voice. Prior to the episode's release, the character's image was initially revealed in the show's first trailer, which was released on August 10, 2024.
