Runt was a domesticated kusak that resided on Lok during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, this animal was part of a group of ten kusaks, among them Bedhead, Blinky, Scarecrow, Slobbers, Troubles, Wart Face, Gargle, Ding, and Speedbump. The Lok Revenants trained these kusaks to serve as guards for Nym's Stronghold. In the year 1 ABY, an explorer offered Lokkian weed to the creature as food. Runt had a preference for a particular type of weed, necessitating the adventurer to gather and test various plants to identify Runt's preferred one.
Runt made an appearance in the 2003 video game titled Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. Runt was incorporated into the game as a component of the updated "Nym's Theme Park," which was launched with "Game Update 16" on March 23, 2010. The kusak was a component of the "Caring for the Kusaks" collection. Each time a player completed the "Weed Whacker Foliage Requisition" quest, they received one of ten unique Lokkian weed varieties. These weeds could be used to feed the kusaks, but each of the ten kusaks located in or around the stronghold would only eat one specific, randomly chosen type of weed.
