Speedbump

During the era of the Galactic Civil War, there existed a docile kusak named Speedbump, residing on the planet Lok. Following the Battle of Yavin, this creature became a member of a ten-kusak pack, which also included Bedhead, Blinky, Scarecrow, Slobbers, Troubles, Wart Face, Gargle, Ding, and Runt. These kusaks were trained by the Lok Revenants to serve as guards for Nym's Stronghold. In the year 1 ABY, an adventurer attempted to feed Speedbump with Lokkian weed; however, Speedbump was particular about the weed it consumed, compelling the adventurer to gather and test various plants until discovering the specific type preferred by Speedbump.

Behind the scenes

Speedbump made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was eventually shut down on December 15, 2011. The addition of Speedbump to the game occurred as part of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park," introduced with "Game Update 16," which went live on March 23, 2010. The "Caring for the Kusaks" collection featured this specific kusak. Players were given one of ten different kinds of Lokian weed as a reward each time they finished the "Weed Whacker Foliage Requisition" quest. These weeds could be used to nourish the kusaks, but each of the ten kusaks in or near the stronghold only accepted one randomly determined kind of weed.
