Saberhing
Saberhing was a planetary body situated within the galaxy. The smuggler known as Tregga put forward a proposition suggesting that prior to their capture by the Galactic Empire on Mimban, the Wookiee named Chewbacca took in a young, orphaned Han Solo, and the pair sustained themselves on planets like Coonee and Saberhing.
Upon hearing this proposition on Vandor, the bartender Tivoche Bilure made a written record of it in his personal journal. Bilure, however, remained skeptical, considering the well-documented malfunctions of Tregga's implants. Irrespective of Tregga's hypothesis, Solo and Chewbacca's initial encounter occurred on Mimban following their capture by Imperial forces.
Behind the scenes
The initial mention of Saberhing occurred in the 2018 canon replica journal Solo: A Star Wars Story: Tales from Vandor, penned by Jason Fry.
Saberhing was conceived by George Lucas as part of Han Solo's personal history, although it never became an official component of Solo's backstory. According to Lucas, Han Solo had employment as a mechanic on an assembly line within a spaceship manufacturing facility located on Saberhing. The 2007 reference work titled The Making of Star Wars: The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film, authored by Jonathan W. Rinzler, contained Lucas' notes that included a reference to Saberhing. Subsequently, Saberhing was introduced into the Star Wars Legends continuity through the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, also written by Jason Fry.
