Saka Salt was a seasoning blend created by Kat Saka. She was the proprietor of Kat Saka's Kettle, a food stall located in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. This brown powder was used by Saka to give flavor to the popped corn she prepared using grains cultivated on her family's farm. It was her second most popular item, only surpassed by Outpost Mix.
Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac chef, became a frequent patron of Saka's establishment. Eventually, she shared the Saka Salt recipe with him, but she steadfastly refused to reveal the secret to her Outpost Mix, despite his persistent requests. Tuggs, finding the Saka Salt recipe to be delicious, included it in his book, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, published in 34 ABY. The cookbook also featured a recipe for Kat's Kettle Corn, a signature dish of Saka's, noting that it could be seasoned in a variety of ways or enjoyed plain, but suggesting either Saka Salt or Nerfsteak Seasoning.
Saka Salt was one of the recipes featured in the 2019 Star Wars cookbook titled Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. The cookbook was authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe calls for a combination of red salt and garam masala.
