Scorpions of Sandstone, a species that originated on the desert planet of Pasher, were equipped with both venomous poison glands and a heat-resistant armor plating. Due to the medicinal properties of sandstone scorpion and spine spiders venom glands, Fayet Kelen decided to establish his enterprise, Kelen Biolabs, on Pasher, where he amassed a considerable fortune. Nakari, Kelen's daughter, used a slugthrower to hunt these scorpions because their armor was capable of reflecting blaster fire.
The first reference to Sandstone scorpions appeared in Heir to the Jedi, a book penned by Kevin Hearne and released in 2015.
