Sanrafsix, a celestial object within the Outer Rim Territories, could be found at coordinates N-17 on the Standard Galactic Grid, specifically within the Grumani sector. Hyperspace routes connected it to Darkknell, Omwat, and Enarc, the latter being a Mid Rim Territories location. A partial map of the galaxy displayed on several screens of the Chandrila Star Line's Halcyon Star Cruiser in 34 ABY showed the position of Sanrafsix.
The initial mention of Sanrafsix in current Star Wars canon occurred in Mark Newbold's "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?" article, published on StarWars.com on January 29, 2016. Its first in-universe depiction was on a map within Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an interactive role-playing experience that opened to the public at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on March 1, 2022. The world of Sanrafsix was originally a part of the Star Wars Legends continuity, debuting in The Essential Atlas (a reference book from 2009) by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.
