A Devaronian female named Sanya served the Galactic Republic as a delegate from the Agricultural Corps, stationed on the agriworld of Ukio. During the tumultuous period of the Clone Wars, she encountered the Padawan Tyzen Xebec, who, without meaning to, called her a "washout." This comment irked Sanya, who firmly believed that her work with the AgriCorps held equal importance to leading troops in battle. However, Sanya's own involvement in combat was not far off, as the Confederacy of Independent Systems soon launched an attack with the intention of rendering Ukio useless to the Galactic Republic.
When Project Instinction, a nefarious scheme orchestrated by the Confederate mastermind known only as "Doctor," drove the inhabitants of Ukio, both people and animals, into a frenzy, Sanya stepped in to try and quell the chaos, with Xebec's assistance. She observed that Xebec himself was succumbing to the madness, engaged in a violent struggle with his comrade, Commander Ganch. She implored Xebec to focus his mind and overcome the affliction that had taken hold. Xebec managed to regain control, and together, he and Sanya worked to thwart the Doctor's plans. Despite their success in saving Ukio, the planet was later acquired by the Confederacy, rendering the Republic's efforts ultimately futile.

A female Devaronian named Sanya was a member of the Agricultural Corps, which was associated with the Jedi Order. She was stationed on the agriworld of Ukio, where she collaborated with the local population. Among her acquaintances were Tonzet and another Ukian. During the Clone Wars, she dedicated herself to cultivating a crop of burrmillet, ensuring it remained free of grub larvae. She anticipated a bountiful harvest, which brought her satisfaction. When a delegation from the Galactic Republic arrived to assess Ukio's defense systems, Sanya reunited with Tonzet and her other friend. Tonzet voiced his disapproval of what he saw as "Republic meddling," expressing his distrust of the newcomers. Upon Sanya's arrival, Tonzet was pleased and inquired about her crops. She shared the positive news but questioned whether he included her in his criticism of "Republic meddling." He clarified that he did not, as he knew Sanya personally. In response, the Devaronian suggested that he make an effort to get to know the newcomers.
Tyzen Xebec, a Jedi Padawan and the leader of the Republic team, approached the group with the intention of asking questions. Noticing Sanya, he inquired if she was also a Padawan learner. She explained that she was instead a member of the AgriCorps. Xebec then asked if she was a "wash-out" due to not being chosen as a Padawan. The Devaronian took offense to this remark, jokingly suggesting that Tonzet disregard her earlier advice about getting to know the strangers. She then haughtily informed the Zabrak Padawan that there were other ways for a Jedi to serve the people of the galaxy besides leading soldiers in battle. Sanya's response silenced Xebec, who had heard similar sentiments before.
During their meeting, a Lucrehulk-class battleship belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems approached Ukio and deployed modified seismic tanks. From the ground, Sanya and Xebec observed the tanks releasing a dark, cloudy substance over a section of the planetary shield, which greatly worried the Padawan. The Ukians and their eopie livestock began to panic, fearing an invasion by the Confederacy. However, Sanya urged everyone to remain calm. When Xebec's attempts to contact his clone trooper commander, Ganch, were thwarted by jamming, the Devaronian realized that someone intended to destroy the Ukian crops. Although the cloud was dispersed when the liege's lowered the planetary shield, Confederacy forces had already landed on Ukio.
Soon after, the eopies began to act erratically, rampaging within their enclosures. Sanya sensed a disturbance in the Force and asked Xebec if he felt it as well. He was uncertain, but shortly after, the two were confronted by a group of savage Ukians wielding scythes. Xebec quickly activated his lightsaber and urged Sanya to flee. The pair managed to escape to the Ukian shield generator complex, where Xebec's team was stationed. There, the Padawan found two of his troopers, Ganch and Squawk, engaged in combat, forcing him to intervene as Sanya observed. When the two clones turned on Xebec, the Devaronian advised him to stay away, as they were clearly being driven into a violent, inexplicable rage. Ganch, in particular, attacked the young Zabrak with great force, striking him with his helmet.
In a state of fear, Sanya retreated into the fields, where she was pursued by a clone trooper. However, he was inadvertently knocked aside by one of the gigauns, much to her horror. She eventually returned to find Xebec and Ganch fighting. The Padawan was bleeding from the mouth and filled with rage. The Devaronian pleaded with Xebec to center himself in the Force and consider his actions, but the clone commander intervened and began to choke the Zabrak. Xebec managed to reach Ganch by asserting his authority, prompting the clone to knock himself unconscious with a med-shot. Sanya was concerned that Ganch was dead, but Xebec assured her that he was merely unconscious. The Zabrak then moved Ganch's unconscious body to a nearby shelter, ensuring that the commander would not be trampled by the gigauns.

After ensuring Ganch's safety, Sanya inquired about the events that had transpired. He struggled to articulate the sensation he had experienced, describing it as similar to the feeling he had when his former Master, Bolla Ropal, had died. Xebec was troubled by Ropal's senseless death, but the Devaronian argued that even if his Master's death had been meaningless, Xebec could still benefit from the wisdom Ropal had imparted before his passing. Seeking clarity, Xebec resolved to uncover the Confederacy's actions on the planet. When Sanya asked about his plan, the Zabrak decided that they would track down the source of the disturbance. Sanya retrieved Ganch's right gauntlet, which had an integrated communicator, as well as his remaining DC-17 hand blaster. Together, the two set out to locate the Confederate forces.
Eventually, they found a landed Sheathipede-class transport shuttle, guarded by three B1-series battle droids and one B2 super battle droid. The B1s were occupied with maintaining a transmitter and did not notice Xebec approaching and destroying the B2. Sanya and Xebec then eliminated the remaining droids, with the Zabrak destroying the device with his lightsaber. Sanya noticed that her mind had immediately cleared, and Xebec agreed, although he sensed that there were still more of the devices in effect. Sanya determined that there were precisely two more machines. Xebec decided that he would destroy the remaining devices himself, while Sanya would return to the shield generator complex, fearing that the planet's defenses might be compromised if the Ukians were still under the influence of the transmitters. Sanya spotted a pair of Single Trooper Aerial Platforms, taking one to return to the complex, while Xebec took the other to hunt down the remaining transmitters.
While approaching the shield complex on the STAP, Sanya was pursued by a B1 battle droid on another STAP. As soon as the B1 realized that Sanya was not a fellow battle droid, he opened fire, prompting her to abandon her craft and send it crashing into her pursuer. She landed safely, but so did the battle droid. As the enemy unit approached, she reached for her blaster pistol, which was out of reach. Using the Force, she was able to summon the blaster to her hand and blast the battle droid in the head. Satisfied with her actions, she ran towards the generator complex. There, she was able to maintain order and was contacted by Xebec's current Master, the Jedi General Keelyvine Reus, on Ganch's communicator. Sanya responded and directed Reus towards her Padawan, while having the planetary shield lowered to allow the General through.
Reus and Xebec were able to defeat the Confederate mastermind, known as the "Doctor" and bring an end to the enemy operation, Project Instinction. While the Republic forces gathered at a landing pad in the aftermath, Sanya met up with Reus and Xebec, as well as another Jedi General, Kit Fisto. Reus commended Sanya for her service to the Republic, and the Devaronian reported that the shield generator complex, although in disarray, still functioned well enough to keep the planet safe. At that moment, the Ukian liege, who had just been ousted, demanded that the Republic forces leave Ukio. The tumultuous events that had taken place on Ukio had lowered the planet's stocks to such a degree that Confederate Magistrate Passel Argente had been able to purchase the planet, placing it under the control of the Confederacy.
After leaving Ukio, Sanya and the rest of the Republic fleet went back to Coruscant aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer, Selfless. Sanya disembarked alongside Master Reus, Commander Ganch, and Xebec, and the young Padawan asked Sanya if she would miss the AgriCorps and the work she did on Ukio. She replied that she'd miss the good the AgriCorps does, but not the dirty work, and in fact, she preferred planets like Coruscant. She revealed that she was also born on the planet, or at least that's where the Jedi Order found her, and Xebec welcomed her home. Reus thanked Sanya for her help on Ukio and expressed her hope that the Agricorps would reward her in her next assignment. Ganch then made sure Reus was aware that he had fully recovered from the effects of Project Instinction and was ready for duty, but Reus insisted that Ganch was due for leave.
They were met by Captain Rex, who asked that Reus and Xebec meet Grand Master Yoda immediately, and offered to accompany Ganch to the RSO Center for relaxation. Ganch was hesitant, but when Reus insisted, he invited Sanya to join him and they departed. When the group arrived in the RSO Center they were greeted by Commander Cody who offered for them to join him at his table. While the clones conversed Sanya dropped her fork and while retrieving it she noticed that there was something blinking on the underside of their table. Ganch immediately ordered for E.O.D. protocol and asked for any standing RSO members to see if they could identify it. Two nearby RSO members responded and identified it as a remote triggered Detonite charge. Another RSO member informed the commanders that they all had undergone training in case they were ever rotated into the field. After surveying the rest of the room, Sanya noticed that all of the tables and chairs were rigged with charges. The RSO members then worked together to simultaneously defuse the charges with the guidance of Cody.

Keelyvine Reus, a Jedi Knight, characterized Sanya as a "spirited" individual. The Devaronian readily defended the actions of the Galactic Republic during her discussion with her friend Tonzet. The Ukian tolerated her presence as a representative of the Republic because of their personal connection. Consequently, she encouraged him to maintain an open mind and become acquainted with the Republic newcomers. Upon meeting Padawan Xebec, the leader of the Republic team, she expressed regret for her earlier remarks when he referred to her as a "washout" due to her involvement in the AgriCorps rather than the Jedi Order itself. Sanya responded to the young Zabrak with a glare, not hesitating to call him blunt. She firmly believed that she was serving the people of the galaxy just as effectively as those leading troops on the battlefield. Although Sanya made every effort to calm her fellow workers during times of crisis, she was deeply concerned by the prospect of someone seeking to destroy the Ukians' hard-earned crops. She was also alarmed when the seemingly violent clone trooper injected himself in the neck with a medical syringe, fearing that he had taken his own life.
Sanya was perplexed by the behavior of those on Ukio during Project Instinction, questioning how individuals like Padawan Xebec had been driven into an uncharacteristically violent state. When Xebec expressed that there was no reason for his Master Ropal's death, the Devaronian suggested that the Zabrak could give value to his life purpose by following the teachings that Ropal had passed on. Sanya's encouraging words prompted immediate action from Xebec. Even in the midst of combat, she was able to joke about his earlier snide remark about her being a "washout." Sanya was also a pragmatic individual, choosing to utilize enemy STAPs to reach her destination rather than tiring herself out. She found the experience of flying a STAP to be highly enjoyable, far more captivating than the task of crop dusting.

Despite being assigned to the AgriCorps, Sanya possessed sufficient Force sensitivity to detect disturbances in the Force, which she sensed during the height of Project Instinction. She was able to resist the Doctor's neural scramblers through the Force, focusing her emotions and refusing to succumb to her anger. Sanya also demonstrated some skill in combat, managing to defeat a pair of droids with a blaster pistol. During the Battle of Ukio, Sanya was able to use telekinesis, albeit with some difficulty.
Sanya made her debut in the 2009 webcomic The Clone Wars: Act on Instinct, written by Pablo Hidalgo. She was introduced in the sixth installment of the comic, which was illustrated by Thomas Hodges.
