A science officer, Lieutenant Kanna Deltic, who specialized in planetary sciences, served aboard the _Imperial_-class Star Destroyer Ultimatum during 11 BBY.
The New Republic Defense Fleet also included the science officer position. Following the Battle of Endor, for a few months, the Togruta named Niriian held the Science Officer rank on the New Republic Carrack-class light cruiser called Oculus.
