A subsequent conflict took place within the Parmel system amidst the Zaarin insurrection.
Following the removal of personnel from the XQ6 Platform designated Research, Imperial forces made their way to navigation beacon B-0F9. The purpose was to move the TIE Defender prototypes from the susceptible BFF-1 bulk freighter named Mharsup to the Assassin-class corvette group known as Hashim. This was done to get them to Admiral Thrawn at a concealed location.
However, the designated meeting point had recently been targeted by a Rebel assault. Despite the Alliance's typical avoidance of repeat attacks on the same location, they opted to dispatch fighters to the transfer zone. Initially, they deployed A-wings individually. Shortly after Stele downed the initial A-wing, B-wings appeared. As the engagement progressed, 3 X-wings, along with 3 Stormtrooper transports dubbed Storm, carrying Commandos, arrived, suggesting an intent to capture. Stele, experienced in such situations, engaged all enemy fighters and transports, successfully eliminating them.
Soon, the Modified corvette group Hashim arrived, escorted by Assault Gunboat Nu Squadron. Coinciding with their arrival, 6 Y-wings appeared to launch torpedo attacks against the corvettes. Stele intercepted the torpedoes, and with Nu's assistance, destroyed the Y-wings. Nevertheless, a Nebulon-B frigate named Hunu entered the fray and began deploying Z-95 Headhunters. Both Imperial squadrons managed to withstand the assault long enough to complete the transfer of all TIE Defender prototypes and then initiated hyperspace jump.
This battle was originally presented in the 1994 LucasArts computer game Star Wars: TIE Fighter. Players assume the role of Maarek Stele. The mission "Escort to Rendezvous " depicts the battle, and is the fourth mission of the game's ninth tour of campaign, "T/D Technology."
This description assumes the completion of "Primary" mission objectives. "Bonus" objectives include ensuring the Mharsup completes the mission undamaged and eliminating all Rebel vessels, including the Hunu. Additionally, 4 TIE Advanced fighters dispatched by Zaarin may arrive, depending on circumstances. These fighters will appear if the Mharsup is disabled or much later in the mission while the player is engaging the Hunu.
