A Sith temple on Malachor
Across numerous worlds in the galaxy, the Sith constructed pyramidal [Sith temples]. Going back to the era of the Old Republic, Sith temples were built in many locations. These include at least two on Moraband, the Sith homeworld; the one located on the devastated planet of Malachor; and a ruined one situated on the volcanic world of Mustafar, the grounds of which later became the site of Darth Vader's fortress. Sometime prior to 10 BBY, Dryden Vos, a crime lord, looted a Sith temple and acquired a slab of obsidian stone etched with hieroglyphs that depicted protective incantations, along with a holocron.
