Around 5 ABY, one of the concluding engagements of the Galactic Civil War took place close to the planet Polaar: a skirmish between the New Republic and the Galactic Empire. In this battle, a Mon Calamari battle cruiser belonging to the Republic was compelled to make a hasty retreat; however, due to a malfunctioning hyperdrive, the cruiser exited lightspeed prematurely, resulting in a crash landing on Polaar. Later, in 21 ABY, after Lando Calrissian, a former general of the Rebel Alliance, spotted the cruiser on Polaar and inquired about its presence, Komat, formerly an Acolyte of the Beyond, provided Calrissian with details of the aforementioned battle.
Adam Christopher's 2022 novel, Shadow of the Sith, references the skirmish that occurred near Polaar.
