The Skydome Botanical Gardens comprised a collection of gardens situated in Galactic City. This city was an ecumenopolis that spanned the entire planet of Coruscant. Circa 9 ABY, a taxi droid, while en route from the Galaxies Opera House to Amnesty Housing within Coruscant, suggested that its passenger, Doctor Penn Pershing, a recent arrival to Coruscant, should make a trip to the gardens. The droid elaborated that the Mysess blossoms were currently flowering, creating a truly magnificent spectacle.
Within established Star Wars canon, the Skydome Botanical Gardens received a mention in "Chapter 19: The Convert," which is the third episode of The Mandalorian's third season. This show is a Disney+ production and this episode was broadcast on March 15, 2023. The gardens have their roots in the Star Wars Legends continuity, initially featuring in Jedi Search, a novel authored by Kevin J. Anderson in 1994. Subsequently, the gardens were visually represented in Legends for the first time on a map within Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which was created by Wizards of the Coast.
