During 3 BBY, Amilyn Holdo, who was then an Apprentice Legislator, went on a pathfinding trip with her companions, during which she searched for snow owls. Kier Domadi, an Alderaanian Apprentice Legislator, inquired of his colleague the reason for her pursuit of the birds, but ultimately conceded to her logic that she ought not to stop her quest.
The young-adult novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, penned by Claudia Gray in 2017, included a reference to snow owls.
