The unique spice rub was formulated by the Dhanduese species who inhabited Dhandu 3, which served as the third moon orbiting the planet [Dhandu], and was used to impart flavor to their food. During a gastronomic journey across the galaxy between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, the renowned Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited this moon. He enjoyed a meal with his Dhanduese hosts and received their spice blend. Subsequently, Tuggs utilized this blend to season tip-yip drumsticks, roasting them to create Dhanduese Drums. He later included the recipe for this dish in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was released in 35 ABY.
