Spreading the Rebellion

To garner backing from the Airam sector, the Spreading the Rebellion campaign was launched by the Rebel Alliance. However, its focus shifted to the annihilation of the Imperial Task Force Vengeance. This Imperial force had been dispatched to subdue the sector and obliterate the Rebel shipyard situated in the Nocto system. This military operation unfolded concurrently with the Sepan campaign.

Genesis

The planning of this campaign stemmed from the Galactic Empire's creation of Task Force Vengeance, which was stationed in the adjacent Elrood sector. Recognizing their inability to confront such a formidable task force, the Alliance opted to relinquish their fixed assets in Elrood in favor of the more isolated and less regulated Airam sector.

Retreat from Elrood

The initial phase of the campaign involved the evacuation of numerous assets from the Elrood sector, notably the XQ5 Platform transformed into the hospital Hormuuz within the Gelgelar system. While most locations evaded Imperial detection, Hormuuz drew the attention of Admiral Senn, who deployed a strike team to apprehend any Rebels present in the system.

Despite the wounded's escape, aided by Rogue and Gold Squadrons, their safety remained compromised as Senn relentlessly pursued the fleeing transports and the assisting medical frigate Redemption. Eventually, the Rebel Forces managed to reassemble along the Airam sector's border regions. Rebel High Command recognized the heightened strategic significance of this area and directed additional equipment towards the sector fleet stationed around the Calamari Cruiser Liberty.

The inaugural convoy comprised a shipment of B-wing starfighters, augmenting the Rebel Fleet's strike capabilities within the Airam sector. Subsequently, materials for constructing and maintaining a capital-class shipyard followed in the ensuing weeks. At some juncture, the Alliance attempted to seize the initiative against Task Force Vengeance, launching an assault on their former base at Gelgelar to recover crucial supplies abandoned during the evacuation.

The Gravity Well Technology

Having replenished their consumables and warheads, the Alliance proceeded to ascertain their adversaries' strength. Rogue Squadron undertook numerous reconnaissance missions to scan Task Force Vengeance's ships and eliminate any freighters transporting warhead supplies. This culminated in a diversionary attack led by the Cruiser Liberty itself, intended to draw some of the Imperial warships into an ambush set within the Goff system.

The ambush nearly backfired when the Imperial warships were accompanied by the Interdictor Cruiser Compellor, trapping the Alliance ships in realspace. However, once the Interdictor was driven off, the Alliance ambush proved successful, and Rebel High Command set a new objective: acquiring the gravity well technology.

Rogue Squadron spearheaded a strike team to capture the Interdictor while it underwent repairs. The operation succeeded, and despite the Empire's attempts to scuttle the Compellor, the Rogues managed to bring the ship safely to the Mobetta system.

By maintaining vigilant patrols around the Gallofree factory, the Rebels managed to conceal the modifications performed on the Strike Cruiser Peregrine, preparing the Compellor for its ultimate mission. The Peregrine's baptism of fire occurred shortly thereafter in the Derilyn system, where it assisted Liberty in pinning down and destroying a reinforcement and resupply fleet en route to Task Force Vengeance.

Concurrently, an Imperial strike force "discovered" the Compellor - which, according to Rebel plans, detonated in plain sight of the Star Destroyers Titan and Juggernaut, leading the Imperials to believe that neither they nor the Alliance possessed access to gravity well technology any longer.

The Demise of Task Force Vengeance

The destruction of the Compellor prompted the two Star Destroyers to attack the factory that had aided in the Peregrine's modification, prompting Alliance forces to respond to the distress call and assist in the evacuation process. Appreciative of the swift rescue of his people, clan leader Tamaron of the Airam sector agreed to supply the Alliance with much-needed warheads. The transfer was executed with minimal disruption in the Kuras Drift.

As the campaign neared its end, Task Force Vengeance was already exhibiting the effects of raids on its supply lines. In a desperate attempt, Senn sought to procure supplies from the traitorous Airam clan leader Ilay, but was thwarted by the efforts of Rogue and Green Squadrons.

The Alliance, determined to gradually wear down the remnants of the Imperial Task Force, did not anticipate that Admiral Senn would have discovered the location of their most vital asset in the Airam sector by this point: The Calenz shipyard. The Super Star Destroyer Vengeance, accompanied by the Star Destroyer Rage, launched a direct assault on the facility (Battle of Nocto). The final outcome remains uncertain, although it is believed that both the shipyard and the Super Star Destroyer were destroyed in the climactic battle.
