Originally, the Peregrine served as a Strike-class medium cruiser within the Rebel Alliance's fleet, dispatched to the Airam sector.
During the campaign, it underwent enhancements, receiving gravity well projectors taken from the Interdictor cruiser Compellor. This vessel had been seized from the Imperial forces under the command of Admiral Senn. Following this modification, the Rebels reclassified the Peregrine as a "Modified Strike Cruiser."
After Rebel forces successfully captured the Compellor, the Imperial fleet launched an immediate and focused operation to reclaim the ship and prevent the Rebels from utilizing its gravity well technology.
The Rebels selected the Peregrine for a specific modification, aiming to deceive Admiral Senn into believing his objective had been achieved. With the collaboration of the local Airam pirate groups, it was equipped with a pair of sizable, rounded structures to house the gravity well projectors at the Airam X7-Factory Gallofree in the Mobetta system. The projectors were moved to the Peregrine, and the Compellor was intentionally destroyed in plain sight of Senn's task force.
The Peregrine's combat debut involved a Rebel assault on an Imperial convoy within the Derilyn system. Immobilized by the Peregrine's gravity wells, the Imperial ships found themselves unable to escape, resulting in the complete destruction of all convoy vessels. Imperial losses encompassed a Strike Cruiser, a pair of Nebulon-B escort frigates, two Ton-Falk-class escort carriers, and a Nebulon-B2 frigate.
Subsequently, the Peregrine took part in a similar operation against the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Rage within the Bes system, spearheaded by Airam Dreadnaughts, but the attack was thwarted by the Rage and its complement of starfighters, including the renowned Avenger Squadron.
The Peregrine was last sighted during the ill-fated Battle of Nocto, though it is presumed to have survived. Its ultimate destiny remains unknown.
Although Imperial players have the opportunity to destroy the Peregrine during the Battle of Nocto, its destruction is not a key mission objective and does not impact the overarching storyline that culminates in this battle. No definitive information exists regarding the Peregrine's final fate; therefore, it can be inferred that it withdrew from the battle at some point, given the absence of confirmation regarding its destruction.
