Star Wars 37: In Mortal Combat constitutes the thirty-seventh installment of the Marvel Star Wars comic book series.
As orchestrated by Domina Tagge, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader make their way into the perilous Crystal Valley. Her scheme involves the elimination of both Luke and Vader, the latter being a longstanding adversary of her brother Baron Orman Tagge. Acting upon Baron Tagge's command, the Millennium Falcon lands on the planet, and he proceeds into the Crystal Valley to face Vader. Vader discloses to Orman that his sister's innocence is a facade, contrary to the eldest Tagge's belief, and persuades him to engage Luke in a duel in Vader's stead. Orman complies, but Vader conjures a visual deception, leading Luke to believe he is genuinely battling Vader. Luke defeats Orman, subsequently fleeing the Crystal Valley and rejoining his Rebel allies.
