Star Wars 36: Red Queen Rising represents the thirty-sixth installment within the Marvel Star Wars comic book series.
Close to Monastery, an Imperial battlecruiser seizes the Millennium Falcon. However, Princess Leia generates a diversion aboard the battlecruiser, which enables their subsequent getaway. Unbeknownst to them, Baron Orman Tagge has managed to escape his life support capsule on the cruiser and has concealed himself on the Falcon prior to its departure from the clutches of the Imperials. Simultaneously, on Monastery, Luke Skywalker is getting ready for his presentation to the elders in the Temple of the Sacred Circle. Upon his arrival, Domina Tagge informs him that they have already reached a decision against him. Luke voices his disagreement, and Darth Vader identifies an opportunity to challenge the young Rebel to a lightsabers duel. Domina, however, takes them both by surprise by prohibiting them from engaging in combat within the temple. Instead, she makes arrangements for the duel to transpire in the Crystal Valley. The issue concludes with the revelation that she orchestrated this duel from the outset, skillfully manipulating both Luke and Vader. She desired that both fighters would eliminate each other, allowing her family to get rid of not just one, but two adversaries.
