The Devaronian, Villie, is exploiting this situation for gambling purposes—a dangerous predicament where swoops, impostor Jedi, and a gambler are all attempting to eliminate Quin! Is survival possible without the understanding that he is a Jedi? The only path is to relinquish control and depend on pure instinct!
Quinlan Vos regains consciousness, but he can't recall his identity or location. To compound his problems, he finds himself in the midst of an inferno! Just as a collection of bounty hunters close in on him, brandishing their weapons, a peculiar Devaronian by the name of Vilmarh Grahrk intervenes to save him. The Devaronian informs Quin about a wager concerning the Jedi's demise, which is motivating numerous bounty hunters to manipulate the outcome. Villie takes a speeder without permission from an acquaintance, and they both make their way to Villie's secret location, with the bounty hunters hot on their trail. Once they arrive at the hideout, Villie discloses that he has actually placed a bet on the Jedi's death and intends to carry it out himself. After Quin relieves his potential murderer of his weapon, a duo of counterfeit Jedi burst into the scene. Quin shoots one and swiftly takes down the other using his accomplice's lightsaber. Following an explanation that he has placed a fresh bet on the Jedi's continued existence, Villie and Quin set off for the spaceport.
