Stewjon, situated in the Deep Core, was a planet and the place of origin for Obi-Wan Kenobi, a human Jedi Master of the male persuasion. Anakin Skywalker, Kenobi's Padawan, was told by Kenobi sometime between 32 and 29 BBY that he had no recollection of departing from his birth planet. In addition, Stewjon was the original home of Tadd Marteens, an agriculturalist or farmer who became a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic following the Battle of Yavin.
The Star Wars creator, George Lucas, invented the name for Obi-Wan Kenobi's place of origin. During the Celebration V event in Orlando, Florida, Jon Stewart, a comedian and talk show presenter, spoke with Lucas. Stewart inquired about the name of Obi-Wan Kenobi's home planet, and Lucas jokingly responded with "Stewjon," which was a tuckerization derived from Stewart's own name. Subsequently, the StarWars.com Encyclopedia entry dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi officially recognized Stewjon as his homeworld.
