Synthesized Operating Layer, Grid-Based Drive Array

Synthesized Operating Layer, Grid-Based Drive Array, or SOL-GDA, functioned as the Intellectual Processing Unit (IPU) aboard the prison starship named Ashmead's Lock. The Predori, a renegade empire in opposition to the Galactic Republic many millennia before the Galactic Civil War, were the builders of both Ashmead's Lock and SOL-GDA. This IPU possessed fluency in a variety of languages, notably Galactic Basic Standard, Ithorese, Gand, Huttese, and Zabraki. Following the self-destruction of a gravity well in which it was concealed, the vessel crashed onto the nearby planet of Kashyyyk. Despite this crash, SOL-GDA was undamaged and proceeded to function, even after the Galactic Empire assumed control of Ashmead's Lock, subsequently modifying and reconstructing the starship.
