"Tales from Wild Space: The Big March" is a short comic story appearing in the pages of Star Wars Adventures (2017) 19, which was released on March 27, 2019.

The story begins with Emil Graf and his collection of droids aboard the Star Herald, as they traversed the Shosho Belt. They were preparing for a perilous journey to the Shosho Outpost. While CR-8R, known as "Crater", expressed his reluctance, BB-00, or "Boo", recalled a tale of an unlucky battle droid.
Decades prior, on the planet called Opop Hibbedit, the forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems were in the process of evacuating. As the B1-series battle droids were being transported via Multi-Troop Transport, one particular droid, designated Q5-7070, tumbled out of the transport and was inadvertently abandoned. Covered in mud and with malfunctioning equipment, Q5-7070 made the decision to follow the transport's trajectory, hoping to rejoin his unit.

During his trek through the forest, he was ensnared by some carnivorous plants. These Carnivorous plants intended to use Q5-7070 as a decorative piece for their habitat. The plants proceeded to wrap the droid in vines, preparing to dismantle him, but their plans were interrupted by the arrival of Magnetic rock chimps. The plants quickly released the droid and fled.

Despite Q5-7070's gratitude, the rock chimps then turned their attention to him, viewing the battle droid as a source of food, and pursued him out of the forest. Subsequently, a large bird swooped down and consumed the battle droid. Upon realizing the droid was inedible, the bird promptly ejected him, depositing him directly in front of his squad. Q5-7070's lieutenant reprimanded him for his unacceptable conduct, but Q5 was too drained to argue. The droids re-boarded their transport, but as they ascended, Q5-7070 once again fell out, landing back on the surface of Opop Hibbedit.
Returning to the day, a staff member at Shosho Outpost inquired about the purpose of Graf and his droids' visit. The trio bore visible bruises from the arduous journey to the outpost. The staff member reminded them that the journey itself held greater significance than the destination.
