Taspir III, a planet characterized by its mountainous terrain, existed within the Outer Rim Territories.

The topography of Taspir III largely consisted of mountainous peaks and valleys, interspersed with bodies of molten lava and rivers, and was subject to constant acid rain. During the time when the Disciples of Ragnos were active, it was known that a network of Imperial Remnant strongholds and manufacturing facilities existed on the planet's surface, contributing significantly to atmospheric pollution.
Following the Battle of Endor and the subsequent fall of the Empire, the world stayed under the dominion of Grand Moff Ardus Kaine and his Pentastar Alignment. It continued to be governed by the Empire under Admiral Pellaeon.
In 14 ABY, the Imperial Remnant maintained a substantial presence, with the fortresses and processing centers guarded by numerous platoons of stormtroopers and hazard stormtroopers, along with a contingent of jumptroopers, New Reborn, and Sith Cultists. It was on this planet that Rosh Penin was held captive after succumbing to the dark side of the Force. Despite this predicament, he was able to transmit a message to the Jedi Praxeum, which led Kyle Katarn and his former apprentice, Jedi Knight Jaden Korr, to initiate a rescue mission. Tavion Axmis' apprentice, Alora, met her end in a fierce lightsaber duel with Jaden Korr. It was also on Taspir III that Korr determined his path within the Force, overcoming his anger at Rosh's betrayal and choosing not to kill his friend. With the Cultists and Imperial forces defeated, Korr departed for Korriban to assist in the final confrontation between the Disciples and the New Jedi Order.
