Terrak Morrhage, a male individual, achieved notoriety as a Sith Lord highly skilled in the sciences. He is particularly remembered for engineering a virulent disease that brought the early Jedi Order to the brink of annihilation.
As a Force-sensitive being of the Humanoid race, Terrak Morrhage underwent training as a Sith at the Academy located on Sigil. There, he specialized in the scientific applications of the dark side of the Force. Morrhage intentionally consumed poisons to develop an immunity, and was eventually mentored by a female Sith Lord who sought to guide him to greatness. Working in his master's laboratory, the pair collaborated on the creation of deadly weapons to be used against their primary adversary: the Jedi Order. During his apprenticeship, his master, fearing discovery by the Jedi Order, fled Sigil. The Jedi eventually located and killed the Sith woman, tracing her path back to Sigil and destroying her laboratory. Morrhage, escaping the attack, was consumed by rage at the loss of her knowledge and vowed to avenge her. Decades after his master's demise, Morrhage engineered a devastating plague, intending to expose the Order's hypocrisy by corrupting its members with the dark side and transforming them into his obedient servants. As Morrhage infected more and more Jedi, they experienced paranoia and psychosis, while the Sith Lord siphoned their powers to enhance his own strength. With a massive army of enslaved Jedi, Morrhage launched a war against the Jedi Order, threatening to destroy the Sith's sworn enemies. Despite the power of his forces, Morrhage was defeated by a Jedi healer who invented a shielding method that severed Morrhage's connection to his victims, restoring their free will. Although the healer perished while freeing Morrhage's thralls, they documented the ritual for other Jedi to learn, ultimately leading to Morrhage's defeat. After being killed in battle, Morrhage's followers interred his remains on Malachor III within an ancient temple, where he would remain undisturbed for thousands of years.
Many years after his death, Morrhage's tomb was discovered by the contemporary Jedi Order. During the period of galactic unrest known as the Great Galactic War, the Jedi Order sent a taskforce of Jedi Knights to Malachor III to investigate the planet. Jedi Parkanas Tark, Yuon Par, Duras Fain, Sidonie Garen, Eriz Vossan, and Cin Tykan began exploring the tomb in search of ancient texts or scrolls when Morrhage's spirit awakened. He then manipulated the emotions of the young Jedi, driving them into a frenzy of lust and passion. While the majority of the team managed to escape to the planet's surface, Jedi Tark was left behind to be tortured by Morrhage, and eventually, Morrhage's dark spirit corrupted and possessed him. Feeding on Tark's vitality and strength, Morrhage renamed himself Lord Vivicar and sought to exact revenge on the Jedi Order by attacking the Jedi who had abandoned Tark on Malachor III. These Jedi began to suffer from a psychosis unknown to the Jedi of that era, and quickly became violent. They were eventually subdued by the actions of a lone Jedi Consular who had discovered the ancient shielding technique in records stored within the Coruscant Jedi Temple's Archives. Upon his defeat, Morrhage warned the Consular that if Tark were to die, all the Jedi Masters afflicted by the plague, whether shielded or not, would also perish. He attempted to provoke the Consular into killing him. The Consular instead chose an alternative, using the shielding ritual to exorcise Morrhage from his host. Screaming in fury, Morrhage vowed to regain his strength and avenge himself upon the Consular before vanishing, freeing Jedi Parkanas Tark from his control.
