Tetha Grig was a female human who, after being separated from her family, found herself dealing spice for a living on her homeworld of Daiyu. In the year 9 BBY, she made an offer to sell spice to the Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi; however, Kenobi's interest was in acquiring information. He told her he was searching for his daughter, hoping for any information, but Grig responded that he would be unsuccessful in his search. Instead, she provided the Jedi with a complimentary dose of spice, suggesting he use it to begin forgetting about his missing child.

Hailing from the planet of Daiyu, Tetha Grig was a female human who became separated from her family, ultimately finding herself among many other children in similar circumstances on the streets of that world. She became involved with slythmongers and began her career as a spice dealer, selling the addictive substance spice as a means of survival. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, specifically in 9 BBY, she was working on a busy street in Daiyu City when she approached Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi who was in hiding and had come to the world to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia Organa.
Grig attempted to sell spice to Kenobi, but he instead inquired about information, feigning that Organa was his daughter. Grig informed Kenobi that if his daughter was on Daiyu, he would never locate her. Subsequently, she placed a quantity of Kessel pure spice from her bag into the Jedi's pocket, explaining that it was a gift and that with repeated use, he would eventually be able to forget about his daughter entirely. Grig then departed from Kenobi, blending back into the surrounding crowds.

At the time of her encounter with Kenobi, Tetha Grig was a young woman who perceived him as old. Holding a pessimistic view that any missing person could be found on Daiyu and believing that no one ever left the world, she advised him to abandon his search for his "daughter," mentioning that she herself had once been someone's daughter. Nevertheless, she gave him a complimentary portion of spice in an attempt to help him forget about his lost child. Grig had fair skin, green eyes, and pink hair styled in a shag cut. She had a series of ribbed protrusions running down both sides of her face.
Grig was dressed in a black shirt, over which she wore a loosely knitted pink cardigan, and a necklace. She also sported a white scarf and yellow pants. Her ears were adorned with multiple piercings, and she wore several rings on her fingers. She carried her spice in a satchel and had Kessel pure, glitterstim, and Felucian spice available when she encountered Kenobi.
