The Tintinna, also called T'iin-T'iin or Tin-Tin Dwarves, were a sapient species that originated on Rinn. While the majority of Tintinna stayed on their underdeveloped planet of origin, some journeyed into the cosmos, with some becoming valued members of spacecraft teams.
Tintinna were diminutive, averaging about 0.9 meters in height, and had a rodent-like form. They had pink skin covered by brown fur. Their ears were small and rounded, and their eyes were small and black. Their pink hands were dexterous and featured four digits with claws. Tintinna possessed teeth typical of rodents, necessitating regular gnawing to prevent their teeth from overgrowing and becoming unwieldy.
The disposition of the Tintinna was generally agreeable; they were inquisitive, good-natured beings capable of harmonious relationships with most other species.
Some individuals throughout the galaxy thought that the Tintinna were related to the Ranats, because they shared similar size and physical characteristics.

Tintinna resided on their native world of Rinn, but their society was considered unsophisticated by galactic standards. They inhabited underground dwellings excavated using only their hands and feet. These lairs were lined with pieces of wood, foliage, and various other materials. Tintinna in their natural habitat often had a scent of wood shavings. Without external aid, their technological progress reached the level of steam power.
The Tintinna were organized into numerous tribes. Each tribe was governed by a leader alongside a spiritual guide. These tribes lived in small communities hewn from the mountains of their world. Tintinna farmers cultivated the land to provide food for the population, and merchants transported goods and information between settlements.
Because Rinn was situated in a far-flung region of the Outer Rim Territories, Tintinna had minimal interaction with the wider galaxy. Some off-worlders used the planet as a refuge, and some Tintinna departed Rinn in their company. The Tintinna's inherent curiosity enabled these adventurers to rapidly adapt to galactic technology. Many Tintinna who left their homeworld used their naturally acute senses to secure employment as sentries. Individuals unfamiliar with the Tintinna often underestimated them, mistaking them for pets or simple-minded primitives.
During the Clone Wars, a Tintinna named Meekerdin-maa served as a crew member aboard the transport vessel, the Uhumele. Meekerdin-maa, nicknamed "Ratty," was present when the fugitive Jedi Dass Jennir secretly boarded their ship. Ratty went with both Jennir and the former Separatist Bomo Greenbark as they endeavored to rescue Greenbark's family from enslavers. Following the failure of that mission, Jennir departed from the crew, who then experienced a streak of misfortune, encountering dangerous criminals and even Darth Vader. Ratty and the others eventually arrived on Kidron, where they encountered another Jedi fleeing the newly established Galactic Empire - Beyghor Sahdett.
Later during the Empire's reign, a Tintinna named Kit was taken in by the contrabandist, Shug Ninx. Ninx initially considered Kit to be merely a non-sentient creature, viewing him as a pet. Despite Kit giving Ninx no indication that he had encountered off-worlders before, Kit was able to organize all of Ninx's tools and perform repairs on his ship. Upon discovering this, Ninx realized his initial assumptions were incorrect and accepted Kit as a partner.
Another Tintinna named Squeak was in Mos Eisley on the pivotal day when Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi hired Han Solo and Chewbacca.
