Tintolive

Grown on tintolive trees located on the Core Worlds planet of Chandrila, tintolives were a type of food. This ingredient was used in the Chandrilan Cheese Board, a dish designed to highlight Chandrila's unique flavors. Following a gastronomic journey across the galaxy between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs incorporated a Chandrilan Cheese Board recipe into The Ultimate Cookbook, his third cookbook, which was released in 35 ABY. The recipe specified tintolives harvested from trees bordering the crystalline cliffs to the north of Hanna City, the capital of Chandrila. However, Tuggs suggested that readers could modify the ingredients to keep the dish interesting, and the book's imagery of the Chandrila Cheese Board did not include tintolives.

Production Notes

In the 2023 cookbook Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak, tintolives are mentioned. The out-of-universe recipe for Chandrilan Cheese Board, which incorporates tintolives, suggests using green olives as a real-world substitute. The term "tintolive" initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity within Greg Keyes' 2001 novel, The New Jedi Order: Edge of Victory II: Rebirth. However, within that continuity, it was exclusively used as part of the tintolive tree's name and not as a standalone concept.
