During the return journey, he studied the holocron, forcefully extracting the knowledge of the Force power required to transfer one's essence from the artifact while en route back to Ciutric IV in his shuttle. This particular mission represented Bane's last journey aboard the Triumph, as he was soon captured and transported to Doan, before ultimately being challenged twice by his apprentice, with the second encounter resulting in his death.
