Tyrak, identified as Golden by the Republic Strategic Information Service, was a Human male who achieved the rank of Moff within the army and also served as the commander of the Sixty-third Armored Infantry Division. This division belonged to the reconstituted Sith Empire during the era known as the Cold War with the Galactic Republic.
The annihilation of the Mandalorian Clan Spar was directly caused by Tyrak, who authorized their execution without even reviewing the details. Akaavi Spar, the only member of the clan to survive, swore vengeance and dedicated herself to finding him. By 3642 BBY, Tyrak was collaborating with the resistance on the planet of Balmorra, working against the Empire's objectives and planning to betray them. He acted as a secret operative, giving the Galactic Republic intelligence concerning Project Nebula while it was under Imperial control. His contact within the Republic base was Commander [Numen Brock](/article/numen_brock]. At some point, he left a package of information regarding the location of a Project Nebula shipment at the Okara Droid Factory for retrieval by the smuggler known as Voidhound. After his true allegiance was discovered, he requested to be extracted from the Nebula research base, a request that was denied until all of the Nebula weapons had been successfully recovered. He went with Voidhound to the Balmorran Arms Factory, providing the necessary access codes to the weapon, before encountering Akaavi Spar, who sought to fulfill her vow of revenge.
