During the period of the Clone Wars, specifically within the Confederacy of Independent Systems' naval forces, there was a B1-series battle droid functioning under the direction of the T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid known as TM-171. This battle droid took part in a multi-day campaign in 20 BBY on the planet Umbara, subsequent to its secession from the Galactic Republic and joining the Confederacy, an event that triggered the Republic's invasion of Umbara. While on the Dual Hemisphere-Omni Support Vessel commanded by TM-171, the B1 battle droid aided the tactical droid by providing critical resupplies during the campaign. Ultimately, the droid was destroyed when the supply ship it was on was obliterated while in orbit.
