A Chagrian, whose species originates from Chagrian, functioned as a go-between for the criminal organization known as the Hidden Hand throughout the Imperial Era. This individual eventually became aware of a transaction planned between Wef, an arms dealer, and the Pykes, another crime ring, and subsequently appeared at their designated meeting location. Upon Wef's arrival with the merchandise, he discovered his intended buyers were dead; the Chagrian then revealed that he represented the Hidden Hand with a more appealing proposition. To ensure his survival, the Melbu Wef conceded to the arrangement and became affiliated with the Hidden Hand. Some years afterward, specifically in 1 BBY, Wef recounted his encounter with the Chagrian to Dengar and Honnah, two bounty hunters, while they were engaged in their hunt to find the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The comic-book miniseries Star Wars: Target Vader, specifically in its third issue, released on September 25, 2019, by Marvel Comics, featured a mention of the Chagrian middle man. This 2019 series was penned by Robbie Thompson.
